Association Activities
(a) Community Policing.
Co-sponsored the 1st Anniversary of police community policing at a ceremony held at Ngong on 27th May 2006
(b) DIT Guard Training Curriculum
Actively participated in the development and drafting of the Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT) Guards training curriculum.
(c) Formulation of Protection Security Industry Regulation Bill.
The Association is actively participating in the consultative forum with the police Reforms Implementation Committee to discuss the draft bill on the private security providers.
(d) Other matters affecting National Issues.
(i) National Policy on Small arms and light weapons
(ii) The Constitution
Litigations
Members of the association being sued or about to be sued and the nature of the claim affecting PSIA members benefit from litigation fund subject to meeting the prescribed conditions.
Tendering
The association has challenged and entered into dialogue with the government departments, public and other procurements entities on ensuring that its members and by extension other SMEs are considered in the tender awards. This is in support of recognizing the role played by SMEs.
Lobbying
The Association Continues to work with other members in the private sectors to lobby for condition favourable to SMEs.
Tripartite Meetings
The Association is continuously engaged in tripartite meetings with the Kenya Police and the Kenya Security Industry Association (KSIA) on Cooperation and matters affecting the general security Situation in Kenya.
